So twitter is way easier to keep up with. My blog is still suffering from my lack of attention.
I've also been busy with two new store orders, my freelance work and trying to get ready for Christmas.
I am behind on my Christmas shopping, no time yet to even think about Christmas cards and I don't think there will be any time for any Christmas baking. Thankfully my mom is nearby and bakes up a storm at Christmas, my husband and kids won't actually be deprived of all the yummy goodies of the season.

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Long delay since my last post....sigh!
Not enough hours in my day to get everything done...big sigh!
I have gone back to work full time. While I am so very fotunate that I can work from home, I just seem to keep up with the kids and the mess and the other household chores that need to get done during the day. It seems that if I'm not working, I'm cleaning up after kids which leaves little time for fun things like blogging and working on ZigZags & Zebras.
I hope over the next couple of weeks everything will settle down and things get back to normal.
Maybe this is what normal is? Time will tell.

September promo is now over

I spent the last month running my friends online shop while she was away on business.
She sells hazelwood necklaces. It is believed that hazelwood has the medicinal property of absorbing and neutralizing the body's acidity through contact with the skin. Wearing one of the necklaces will help to relieve or prevent ailments such as migraines, acid reflux, heart burn, nausea, arthritis, skin problems etc.

It was a great experience to run her shop. I got to experience all that is involved in having your own online business. There were very few hiccups along the way, which was a good thing!

During the month, we gave away a hairclip for each order that was made through Tiny Teethers.
I ended up sending out 56 clips. Now I wait and see if any of those give clips will generate any new customers for ZigZags & Zebras. Fingers crossed!

Zibbet

Just joined Zibbet today. Heard of them through an etsy forum.
Seems to be very similar to etsy, no listing fees and no commission, for now.
Another way to get the word out about ZigZags & Zebras!
See if it generates any more sales. The upside is that there aren't nearly as many people selling the same things as me.

Cranky's Bike Shop

Finished putting together my 'Cranky's Clips'.

Black ribbon lined alligator clip with bright yellow bicycles, an exclusive item to be sold in my brother's bike store http://www.crankys.ca/

Still trying....

...to set up a section on here with photos. Ideally I'd like to set up a list of all my clips since I have not listed everything on etsy. I don't know what I am missing and why I can't figure it out, Grrr. So many nice looking blogs out there, mine looks so plain.

Who I am & What I do

I just thought I'd let everyone know who I am & what I do.

ZigZags & Zebras came about a few months ago after I was laid off from my job of 13 years.
I worked as a product development manager with an electronic toy company. Developing products comes naturally to me and so I needed to find something that would fill the work void and would keep my mind and hands busy. After a visit from a good friend of we decided that there were too many high priced hairclips on the market locally. I made her a few clips and fell in love with them. I have so much fun making them and my girls have so much fun wearing them and telling their friends about them, they love to be involved. My little entrepreneurs jump for joy when an order comes in and they are quick to help me package up my sales and ship them off in the mail.

I still have lots to learn about etsy and blogging and wished I had more time to myself to learn the in's and out's of both.

I hope to post updates of how ZigZags & Zebras is growing and everyday life of juggling family, etsy, and hopefully my return to work.

If you are interested following along, I'd be happy to have you :)
Attempting to set up my blog, not really sure what I am doing yet. This will be a work in progress. I want to set up a catalogue with all my clips as I haven't listed everything in my etsy shop.
